Archaracter Defined

Hi there! My name is Elizabeth McIlwee and I am the founder of the  Archaracter Design. The name Archaracter is rooted in the belief that truly meaningful spaces live at the intersection of architecture and character.

Architecture brings structure, flow, and intention—the foundation on which every space is built. Character infuses warmth, texture, and individuality—the subtle layers that make a space feel personal and alive.

Together, they create environments that are not only well-designed, but deeply felt. Spaces that function beautifully, reflect identity, and tell a story without saying a word.

Art and design have been my passion for as long as I can remember. Interior design is in my blood—and my heart has always been in the details: the textures, the finishes, the quiet choices that make a space feel intentional. My approach to design blends structure with creativity, and I’m drawn to spaces that are both functional and intentional and uniquely personal.

Design, to me, isn’t about trends—it’s about creating timeless spaces. I work with natural, organic materials to create homes that feel grounded, effortless, and personal.

Whether sourcing finishes for a renovation or furnishing a space, my goal remains the same: to help you fall in love with your space—through beauty, clarity, and a sense of comfort that endures.
